Art and beauty should belong to the people

Something Moscow has very well hidden, and it might be a gorgeous surprise to many tourists, is how beautiful are the metro stations there.

It was built during the Soviet era and based on the idea that "art and beauty should belong to the people rather than only being available in the houses of nobles" and it's really a brilliant idea. Because metro stations usually are ugly and dirty and these ones look like museums you can admire whenever you want to. It must be gorgeous to go to work every day looking at these astonishing aisles so admire this hidden beauty and one can only hope to see it with my very own eyes if i travel to Moscow one day. More behind the cut.
